$60 per session or $220 entire weekend
We are so excited to have Nicki back at Moksha for another wonderful weekend of Maya Yoga Vinyasa Fusion! Take the opportunity to join us for an amazing workshop with Nicki Doane...supermom, environmentalist and one of the top yoga instructors in the world! Nicki has been studying yoga in India for years and has been deeply influenced by the teachings of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois and B.K.S. Iyengar. Her unique approach to vinyasa yoga strengthens all aspects of your being through dynamic structural alignment, conscious breathing, and practical yogic philosophy; helping students find the deeper life of yoga. Nicki strives to teach each student that yoga is about being fully present in the moment and discovering that we are truly all One. One Love. One People. One Heart. One Destination - Our Higher Self.

9/24, FRI., 6:30-8:30PM • EXPLORING HOW A SUSTAINABLE PRACTICE CREATES A SUSTAINABLE LIFE
In the world as it stands today, it is becoming increasingly obvious that Sustainability is no longer an option for us all but a much needed Reality. How to create that in our own lives and yoga practice is what Vinyasa Fusion has to offer. The Maya Yoga approach is intent on serving the Individual student. Nicki and Eddie’s style encourages students to discover their true self and let the practice be the teacher, showing you the tools to learn for yourself what is right for you at any given moment. Vinyasa Fusion combines the breath and flow of vinyasa style yoga with alignment principles which support safety, postural integrity, and personal awareness in the practice. Since our practice is a representation of our lives, we will explore how this sustainable approach to our asana practice helps us to create and sustain balance in our lives. We invite you to explore Nicki’s unique approach to vinyasa yoga because it will strengthen all aspects of your being through dynamic structural alignment, conscious breathing, and practical yogic philosophy!

9/25, SAT., 9-12PM • WAKE UP AND FLOW!
This is the perfect opportunity to wake yourself up and take notice! To practice yoga is to recognize and celebrate the Divine within and find expression for that realization. A dynamic Vinyasa style yoga practice is one way to do just that and to start to awaken the spirit within us all. Through an energizing sequence of postures, we will explore how a grounded, earth based asana practice can be the bridge that joins the gap between the spirit body and the physical body.

9/25, SAT., 2-4PM • ARM BALANCES: LEARN TO STAND ON YOUR OWN TWO HANDS
The group of poses known as arm balances bring up all kinds of emotions for people. Fear, Insecurity, Frustration, Fear. Did we mention that one yet?! In this class we will work with these poses to look fear in the face. Learning how to go upside down can be a very empowering experience for everyone. We will work on handstands against the wall and in the middle of the room, depending on your level of comfort. In this class, anyone that wants to do a handstand, will! We will cover many arm balances, from the more simple “baby Balances” to the more advanced full arm balances. This class promises to be fun and an opportunity to conquer some fears and let them go!

9/26, SUN., 9-12PM • BACKBENDS TO EXTEND THE SPINE AND EXPAND YOUR CONSCIOUSNESS!
The practice of backbending can be exhilarating, terrifying, and incredibly fulfilling. Whatever reasons you come for, whether it is to conquer some fears or to increase your capacity for expansion, this class is for you. Eddie and Nicki have a wonderful way of preparing the body, mind and spirit in a safe, supportive way. You will be amazed at what you can achieve with the proper support and conscious preparation. This will be a strong class.

Nicki Doane had a wanderlust that led her to India in 1991 to study yoga. She went to Mysore to meet Sri K. Pattabhi Jois and immediately realized she had found her teacher. Nicki started teaching in 1992. She cites Pattabhi Jois, along with Eddie Modestini, Gabriella Giubilaro, and Tim Miller among her most influential teachers. She is an authorized teacher of Ashtanga Yoga. Although rooted in Ashtanga, Nicki's teaching goes beyond the traditional. Her vinyasa classes combine asana, pranayama, philosophy, and poetry. Nicki’s emphasis is on awareness: creating integrity within each pose that can be carried beyond the mat into daily life. Nicki teaches at yoga studios and conferences across the globe and is featured in two Ashtanga Yoga DVD’s from Gaiam Inc. and recently produced her own series of Maya Yoga DVD’s in collaboration with her husband Eddie Modestini. Nicki lives in Sebastopol, California with her husband, Eddie Modestini. Together, Eddie and Nicki co-direct Maya Yoga Studios in both California and Maui, HI.
