8 Week Prenatal Yoga Series

Pregnancy is a beautiful miracle of the female body adapting and changing to create a new being brought about through pure love. Our bodies are the most amazing pieces of natural engineering, but that doesn't mean pregnancy is easy or painless. Throughout all three trimesters there are always new changes and challenges. How do I breathe now? Why are my ankles swollen? Did I always pee this much? Is this normal?

Yes, it is normal and you are not alone. This eight week prenatal yoga course works on building a community for our mamas while keeping them moving with poses that will help them with flexibility and strength that will make their pregnancy and birth easier.

What to bring:

Whatever will make you comfortable! Yoga mat, blankets, pillows, bolsters, blocks, etc.

Week 1 - Cuddle into this cozy introduction to prenatal yoga that will help us set up a solid foundation for the coming weeks. While we focus on engaging our core to keep Baby safe and sound, we will be working through poses that will help you find space and release in your ever changing body.

Week 2 - Surrender into this practice that centers around the root chakra. This week we will focus on grounding ourselves, creating a stable base, and releasing the tension that has built up in our lower body.

Week 3 - Change is beautiful! You are changing and it is beautiful. This practice is centered around the sacral chakra and this week we will focus on embracing our beautiful selves, releasing tension in our lower back, and opening our hips.

Week 4 - You are pregnant, not powerless. So let's show our strength with this solar plexus chakra focused practice. This week we will focus on breathing techniques, engaging the core to protect our precious cargo, and recognizing our own power.

Week 5 - This week we keep heart at the center of our practice with the heart chakra. We will focus on being kind to ourselves by slipping into this delicious yin practice and opening our hearts to connect to our little bundles of joy.

Week 6 - Let your voice be heard, mama! We will kick off this throat chakra practice with a bit of chanting so our babies can hear our soothing voices and then slip into a practice focused on postures designed to release the neck and back.

Week 7 - We are opening our eyes (third eyes) to our new way of life as mothers. Our practice will work on balancing ourselves with folding postures that will help us fold into our new role with grace and kindness. 

Week 8 - I am complete... and thus our prenatal yoga series ends with this all-encompassing crown chakra practice. This is the day we bring it all together for a whole body stretch with a little extra time to fall into deep relaxation.
