Mommy & Me Yoga - 4 Week Series w/Elizabeth

Come join our community of moms as we journey together through a 60 minute postpartum class with our little bundles of joy. As new moms, we know things don't always go to plan, so we are incredibly understanding of our recovering bodies and the fact that one of the babies could be having a cranky day. Whatever comes out way, we roll with it.

Our 60 minute class includes circle time where we discuss our latest successes and struggles with motherhood, interacting with our baby by giving them connection and engaging time with mom, and poses to help you rebuild that pelvic floor and core strength.

It is our recommendation that new mothers wait the doctor recommended 6 weeks before starting yoga. You need no yoga experience, just bring yourself in some comfy clothes, a mat, a blanket, and your baby.

You do not need to bring your baby to class if you would rather not, but understand we will have babies and all the noises both good and bad that entails.

Are you ready to take your core strength to the next level? Maybe you’re starting to think about beach weather! In either case, you will LOVE this Aerial Core Intensive Workshop. We will start with a fast 5 minute warm up and move quickly into our best aerial core building exercises, all while using the aerial hammock to assist and intensify each movement. We will end with a quick 5 minute cool down and you will be on your way! Unlike most core workouts, aerial engages the tiny muscles surrounding your large muscle groups in order to stabilize while the hammock is moving. Are you ready to challenge your core and see amazing strength building results in just 6 short weeks?

Join Terree for an experience unlike your typical yoga class. We will shake things up a bit by eliminating one of the senses in order to heighten the others. You are invited to a safe space and a mindful practice to experience yoga in a way that will shift your perspective. Turning your awareness inward in a way you have never experienced before.

We will begin with some grounding breaths and awareness to tune in to the sense of touch, sound, smell, even while we are depriving ourselves of the sense of sight.

Notice the nuances of all of the sensations, tune in to the awareness of space and place on your mat. We will move through Asana and breath work to heighten the experience of seeing how the senses will compensate when one is taken out of the picture.

Terree will also have extra sandbags to purchase for $25 if you should wish  to have more than one for your own use.  

Discover how to utilize weighted sandbags to enhance your practice. Just like a weighted blanket,  a sandbag can create a sense of grounding and contentment, as well as defuse sensory overload that we can experience in our more quiet and still yoga practices when we are seeking a calm and quiet mind. When used in  yin and restorative, we can create gentle heaviness onto the body that will allow the tissues to surrender to a deeper level and create an energetic grounding sensation that will leave you feeling more calm connected to yourself.  Ultimately, we may be able to connect more deeply to the calming of the parasympathetic nervous system. 

Terree will guide you through a practice of yin and restorative postures that will enable you to discover new ways to use these props to enhance your experience.  The weight of the sandbags will help reduce resistance and allow the body to melt into a deeper state of passivity. 

Included in the workshop is a 10 lb sandbag for you to take home and knowledge of how to use this prop at home and at the studio on your own.

Yoga Nidra is a gentle and specific guided method of meditation that moves your awareness into a deep state of rest while remaining alert. Yoga Nidra happens in an alert state of consciousness just before dreaming, and encourages a non-sleep deep rest, where the mind and body are fully relaxed. Yoga Nidra integrates meditation with affirmation, body-sensing, subtle breath-work, as well as working with feelings, emotions and guided imagery. When practiced regularly, people experience calmer thoughts, lower blood pressure, increased immunity, more restful sleep, improved memory, reduced chronic and acute pain, and a lift in overall well being.

This class is quiet and introspective, with plenty of time to breathe and develop connection to inner knowing that is always present.

Format:
Each 60 minute session will begin with guided breath work to harness the energy of the mind, along with a few gentle movements to release any muscular tension, preparing you to be more spacious and receptive to the subtle body. You will then be guided through a meditation leading into yoga Nidra. Low lighting, ambient music, gentle healing sounds, and aromatherapy are some of the tools that will be used to amplify your experience. Leave feeling calm, refreshed, and revitalized.

This 2 hour all levels workshop will focus on de-mystifying some of the questions and concerns that come up with inversion postures. Inversions are generally taken with the head down, but not always with the feet up. Inversions are not only handstands and headstands; inversions are anytime the head is below the heart.  

In this class, we will explore the many types of inversions our bodies can take, focusing on building proper foundation and understanding the relationships between the hands, the shoulders, the pelvis, the core muscles, and the breath.  We will explore several warm ups that strengthen the primary movers for inversions, and practice inverting safely and with control.

Soothing Sandbags: Weighted Yin/Restorative with Terree

If you have your own sandbag, $50 if registered by 6/19, $60 after. 

Terree will also have extra sandbags to purchase for $25 if you should wish  to have more than one for your own use.  

Discover how to utilize weighted sandbags to enhance your practice. Just like a weighted blanket,  a sandbag can create a sense of grounding and contentment, as well as defuse sensory overload that we can experience in our more quiet and still yoga practices when we are seeking a calm and quiet mind. When used in  yin and restorative, we can create gentle heaviness onto the body that will allow the tissues to surrender to a deeper level and create an energetic grounding sensation that will leave you feeling more calm connected to yourself.  Ultimately, we may be able to connect more deeply to the calming of the parasympathetic nervous system. 

Terree will guide you through a practice of yin and restorative postures that will enable you to discover new ways to use these props to enhance your experience.  The weight of the sandbags will help reduce resistance and allow the body to melt into a deeper state of passivity. 

Included in the workshop is a 10 lb sandbag for you to take home and knowledge of how to use this prop at home and at the studio on your own.

Candlelight Chakra Sound Bath: Restoring Balance

Join Jennifer for a 2-hour candlelight restorative yoga experience to unwind, relax, and balance your mind, body, and spirit.   This deeply healing and rejuvenating blend of restorative yoga, meditation, chakra balancing, and sound healing promotes better deep, restful sleep, feelings of inner peace and overall well being.  

The workshop will begin with intention setting and gentle breath exercises.  You will then flow through progressively slower and lower postures, eventually settling in for a grounded restorative yoga practice. Each all levels posture will be supported by several yoga props, allowing you to create a ‘rest nest’ to facilitate the sense of ease on your mat. With soothing scents filling the room, Jennifer will pair hands-on adjustments with the gentle vibration of tuning forks to balance your chakra energy centers for optimal health.

This blissful session will round out with a dreamy sound bath, using the vibrations of crystal and Tibetan bowls, leaving you feeling deeply restored and renewed.

Restorative Aromatherapy Escape

Join us for a blissful evening of restorative yoga, thai yoga massage, aromatherapy, sound therapy, wine and treats. Cora Rosen and Monica Hornung will guide you through a 2 hour Restorative Yoga class, supporting and pampering you every step of the way. We will start by setting our intention, gently saluting the sun and then go deep into the restorative practice with hands on adjustments and massage incorporating aromatherapy oils throughout the practice. Inspiring scents and sounds, cold and warm towels and soothing adjustments will be given throughout the entire practice, ending with a warm towel neck traction massage and guided meditation. Once we reawaken from this stress-relieving and purifying practice, we will offer wine,treats and good company. All levels welcome and no yoga experience required. Space is very limited so pre-registration is recommended.

Licensed acupuncture physician, Leanne Mitchell will provide shared group acupuncture with focus on the extraordinary Du Mai meridian associated with strength and courage, the motive force to move forward!

8 Week Prenatal Yoga Series

Pregnancy is a beautiful miracle of the female body adapting and changing to create a new being brought about through pure love. Our bodies are the most amazing pieces of natural engineering, but that doesn't mean pregnancy is easy or painless. Throughout all three trimesters there are always new changes and challenges. How do I breathe now? Why are my ankles swollen? Did I always pee this much? Is this normal?

Yes, it is normal and you are not alone. This eight week prenatal yoga course works on building a community for our mamas while keeping them moving with poses that will help them with flexibility and strength that will make their pregnancy and birth easier.

**No yoga experience needed

What to bring:

Whatever will make you comfortable! Yoga mat, blankets, pillows, bolsters, blocks, etc.

Week 1 - Cuddle into this cozy introduction to prenatal yoga that will help us set up a solid foundation for the coming weeks. While we focus on engaging our core to keep Baby safe and sound, we will be working through poses that will help you find space and release in your ever changing body.

Week 2 - Surrender into this practice that centers around the root chakra. This week we will focus on grounding ourselves, creating a stable base, and releasing the tension that has built up in our lower body.

Week 3 - Change is beautiful! You are changing and it is beautiful. This practice is centered around the sacral chakra and this week we will focus on embracing our beautiful selves, releasing tension in our lower back, and opening our hips.

Week 4 - You are pregnant, not powerless. So let's show our strength with this solar plexus chakra focused practice. This week we will focus on breathing techniques, engaging the core to protect our precious cargo, and recognizing our own power.

Week 5 - This week we keep heart at the center of our practice with the heart chakra. We will focus on being kind to ourselves by slipping into this delicious yin practice and opening our hearts to connect to our little bundles of joy.

Week 6 - Let your voice be heard, mama! We will kick off this throat chakra practice with a bit of chanting so our babies can hear our soothing voices and then slip into a practice focused on postures designed to release the neck and back.

Week 7 - We are opening our eyes (third eyes) to our new way of life as mothers. Our practice will work on balancing ourselves with folding postures that will help us fold into our new role with grace and kindness. 

Week 8 - I am complete... and thus our prenatal yoga series ends with this all-encompassing crown chakra practice. This is the day we bring it all together for a whole body stretch with a little extra time to fall into deep relaxation.

 Yoga is a great activity that you can do with your child no matter what age! We will be dancing through yoga poses, laughing  through meditation and moving through partner yoga poses together! This class promises fun for the whole family! Children welcome with their adult yoga buddy. (Moms, Dads, Aunts, Uncles, and Grandparents all make great buddies.) No yoga experience necessary.
